Hasan Ali reportedly left the T20 World Cup team

The team’s leadership has given Hasan Ali the green light to play for Warwickshire in county cricket, where he has already committed to participating. The right-arm pacer was already named to the team as a replacement for the injured Haris Rauf, so this news is no surprise. On the other hand, Rauf is now ready to play in all four Twenty20 International matches against England.

Hasan Ali reportedly left the T20 World Cup team

In preparation for today’s Twenty20 World Cup 2024 opener against England in Leeds, Pakistan’s fast bowler Hasan Ali was “released” off the Green Shirts’ roster.

In Pakistan’s final Twenty20 International (T20I) match against Ireland on May 14, Hasan took 0 for 42. So, in fifty Twenty20 innings for Pakistan, he has taken 60 wickets at an economy rate of 8.45. Because of this new information, Pakistan will enter the Twenty20 World Cup in the US and the West Indies with a reduced roster of seventeen players. The tournament starts on June 1.

Before the Twenty20 International series against England and Ireland, Pakistan named an 18-man roster; however, they will decrease that number to fifteen for the World Cup. Two alternates will also be on the road with the team.

As we speak, Pakistan will be announcing its World Cup roster. Any changes to the roster after May 24 would necessitate approval from the Event Technical Committee of the International Cricket Council. The deadline for squad announcement is May 24.

Pakistan’s T20 World Cup 2024 schedule

  • June 6 — Pakistan vs USA, Dallas
  • June 9 — Pakistan vs India, New York
  • June 11 — Pakistan vs Canada, New York
  • June 16 — Pakistan vs Ireland, Lauderhill
