Champions Trophy 2025: England Strengthened by Key Return

Ben Duckett, their top-order batsman, has been certified fit for the forthcoming ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, so England got a big boost ahead of it, set to start on February 19 in Pakistan.

Regular England team member Duckett felt tightness in his left groin during his side’s third ODI against India in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, therefore triggering an injury worry.

The left-handed hitter thus underwent scans and found his damage to be minor.

“Scans on a left groin injury have confirmed that England men’s batter Ben Duckett is fit and available for the ICC Champions Trophy,” the England Cricket Board (ECB) stated in a statement.

Champions Trophy 2025: England Strengthened by Key Return

England, who are scheduled to launch their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign against arch-rivals Australia on February 22 in Lahore, recently suffered a 3-0 clean sweep against India but will be encouraged by the availability of their crucial opener.

“The England squad will arrive in Pakistan on 18 February ahead of their opening match of the tournament against Australia in Lahory on Saturday, 22 February,” the release said.

Drawn into Group B, England will then play Afghanistan on February 26 and South Africa on March 1 in their last group-stage game.
