Right-arm bowler Ottneil Baartman will miss the third ODI against Pakistan at The Wanderers Stadium on Sunday due to injury.
The right-arm bowler, who took two wickets for 37 runs in seven overs in the series opener in Paarl on Tuesday, did not play in the next match. During the warm-up, the 31-year-old complained of right knee pain.
South Africa’s remaining match will feature 30-year-old all-rounder Corbin Bosch in place of Baartman. Ottneil Baartman’s injury is the hosts’ second in the three-match series after left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj’s groin strain.
Maharaj was injured during the home team’s warm-ups for the ODI series opener against Pakistan, reports say. The left-arm spinner was in South Africa’s opening match lineup, however he was injured and replaced by Andile Phehlukwayo.
I should emphasise that Pakistan leads the three-match series 2-0. The tourists beat the Proteas by three wickets in the first ODI and 81 runs in the second.
