The Bengal Tigers were in Group 1 in the event. They played 5 matches in the tournament and could not record a single victory in T20. In the first match, Bangladesh lost to England by 8 wickets and 35 balls, West Indies by 3 runs, South Africa by 6 wickets, and Australia. Defeated by 8 wickets while achieving the target 82 balls earlier.
Representing the Bengal Tigers, all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has also been nominated for the ICC Player of the Month. But he was ruled out of the match against Australia due to a hamstring injury in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup. Shakib scored 131 runs at 21.83 in the event and also took 11 wickets with an economy of just 5.59.
