The BCCI’s newly elected secretary Devajit Saikia discussed longer formats skipper Rohit Sharma’s visit to Pakistan before the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. Indian media reported earlier this month that men’s team captain Sharma will likely cross the border for tournament-related festivities.
All captains will pose for a portrait and hold a press conference to discuss tournament expectations. The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will feature all eight captains.
Saikia stated that the BCCI did not receive any such suggestion and that it was not part of the board’s negotiations with the highest cricketing organisation. We have no such proposal. We haven’t discussed this with the ICC “Saikia told an Indian newspaper.
Each step must be taken after considering the consequences in this delicate scenario. India must find a solution to resolve the dispute since Pakistan will benefit from hosting.” The eight-team tournament will be held in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Dubai from February 19 to March 9.
Teams compete in 15 matches in two groups.
