Former Pakistan captain Azhar Ali scored his first county double century while playing for Worcestershire.

On the second day of the county match against Leicestershire at the Worcester ground, Azhar scored a double century just before the end of the play. Therefore, Azhar’s double century comprises seventeen fours and one six. Thus, the 37-year-old batter had a rough start to the ongoing county championship, scoring only 34 runs through the first six innings. However, he soon began scoring runs with his bat. Following three consecutive half-centuries, Azhar scored a magnificent double century.
So, Azhar is the second Pakistani player to score a double century in the ongoing county championship, following Shan Masood. Thus, he scored two double centuries while playing for Derbyshire. The former captain has represented Pakistan in 94 test matches, with 43.07, 19 centuries, and 35 fifties batting average. Azhar should be available for the remainder of the ongoing English County Championship.
