Asian Bodybuilding Championship | PBF all set to grab medals
The Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBF) promised to bring medals back from the 54th Asian Bodybuilding Championship. As it will be held in the Maldives from July 15-21. So Sohail Anwar, the secretary of the PBF, told me that his team of bodybuilders had put in a lot of hard work over the past six months to prepare for the Asian championship. Thus, this was before they left for the Maldives.
Furthermore, up to ten bodybuilders were named winners after trials that were open to the public. Some of the Pakistani players who will be there are Mudassar Khan, Farhan Basheer, Anis Hanif, Umar Shahzad, Mohammad Amin, Saeed Faisal, and Mohammad Azeem, Syed Fazal, Ilahi, and Shahzad Ahmed Qureshi. Sohail said that his reputation had been ruined to make money, even though he was still attacked for supposedly running a fake federation.
“Also, Our athletes have worked really hard and our aim is to win medals,” the PBF secretary said.
“Plus, It took a lot of time and money to reach this stage. So, we did open trials and selected bodybuilders on merit. Now, it’s time for them to perform for their country,” he stressed.
“Moreover, I have always believed in performance. Our federation is recognised by world federations and we have won medals in multi-nation events. Thus, you can go and cross-check it,” he claimed.
“Thus, We don’t want to fight with anyone. Our goal is to serve Pakistan’s bodybuilding and promote athletes. However, if anyone wants to do the same, let’s work together,” he expressed.
“Also, We have got NOC for participating in the Asian event. Government has provided us all-out support and we are thankful to them,” he concluded.
